Conservative Treatment

A variety of different orthopaedic conditions can be successfully managed with conservative treatment. We routinely employ conservative treatment for orthopaedic conditions involving the neck, upper extremities, low back, and lower extremities. Conservative treatment may be appropriate for a number of different musculoskeletal conditions including arthritis, sprains/strains, tendonitis, certain types of fractures, blunt trauma, neck pain, and low back pain. Nonoperative strategies may include physical therapy/home exercises, occupational/hand therapy, acupuncture, activity modification, oral medications, injections, bracing, casting, and alternative/natural treatment options.
