Fractures/Trauma

Dr. Austin routinely treats fractures and traumatic injuries of the upper and lower extremities. Stable fractures and fractures with predictable healing can often be managed with conservative treatment including bracing and casting. Unstable fractures and fractures with unpredictable healing may require surgical treatment and stabilization. While there are general principles at play that contribute to fracture care, each patient and each fracture are unique and benefit from individualized treatment. An optimal treatment plan will be developed following a thorough history and physical examination and a detailed review of the relevant imaging studies.
